ABOUT US
After recognising the demand for a superior luxury touring experience in Africa, the travel experts at Hotspots2c, a leading South African-based tour operator established in 2007, decided to leverage their extensive local travel experience to create Africa Select Journeys. About a decade later, in 2018, by focusing our expertise and local knowledge, we began specialising in offering our diverse range of clients bespoke, uniquely Southern African journey options – creating trips that matter.
We believe in the philosophy that travel should be effortless and immersive; so when choosing to travel with Africa Select Journeys, you can rest assured that we will take care of every detail while you relish in the perfection of a seamless journey that can be remembered for a lifetime.
We are a unified company that believes travel is more than just visiting a place but it’s about building relationships, making a positive change and about giving back to the community, which is why we established our non-profit organisation, 2cChange in 2016 to help make a difference in the areas we travel.

Through our non-profit organisation, 2Cchange, and in partnership with Hotspots2c, we’ve dedicated ourselves to creating greener, more conscious journeys that leave a lasting impact.
Our mission is to inspire travellers to explore South Africa in a way that not only enriches their own lives but also supports the communities, environments, and wildlife we encounter along the way.

2Cchange is a non-profit organisation founded by of a group of travel professionals, determined to travel sustainably and consciously. Our mission is always to bring about positive change to the people and places we visit.
Through our travel partners (and especially our founding company Hotspots2c) we create awareness whilst also inspiring travellers to have a meaningful experience while visiting South Africa. Our mission is to immerse ourselves in local projects that support the local communities visited on tour.

Credit card and identity information are encrypted and secure as our booking system partners are fully PCI DSS compliant. Safety and security have always been our number one concern.

Owner & Founder
Travel was always something I wanted to do growing up and my first travel-related job was as a tour guide in Europe. From there I have gone on to travel to 60 countries and have lived in Australia, Scotland and France. When I started Hotspots2c it was pretty much just me and my bus, and the support of my family. When I’m not focused on work I’m with my family or can be found practising my French or reading with a glass of wine.
Marc Whitmill
Marketing Director
I believe that hard work, determination and passion will take you where you want to go, and if you don’t apply those things to what you’re doing, then you shouldn’t be doing it. That’s why, after my first job as a travel consultant in London back in 1999, I still find myself in the travel industry. When I’m not drinking beer I can usually be found participating in or training for an endurance event; cooking up gourmet dishes, or travelling through the Cape Winelands.
Benita Stroebel
Custom Journeys
When I started my profession in hospitality; working as a guest house manager for many years – I’ve always been involved in creating personalised experiences for guests to make the stay extra special. This has grown into my work passion and as a journey designer I love being able to create customer specific tailored trips that will be remembered for the rest of their lives. In between my day job, I also create my own memories and test out experiences by spending time with my family (usually on the beach) and as a novice photographer; I love capturing special moments on camera.
Yolanda Smit
Tour Consultant
I’m an enthusiastic and sociable adventurer who thrives on dynamic energy. With 13 countries in my travel history, Bali holds the second spot in my favourites. I adore tropical island destinations, but my roots in South Africa run deep. I’m a keen explorer, always seeking out new experiences. I adore outdoorsy active activities like running, beach walks, and stand-up paddleboarding – especially as I live on the West Coast, but you’ll often find me vine-hopping in the Franschhoek valley on weekends for wine tasting adventures with my husband too.
Sonia Van Wyk

I’m a traveller at heart and soul with years of extensive experience in the industry. I’ve had the privilege of working as a Flight Operations Agent for Emirates, Air France, and KLM Airways and my passion for the travel industry stems from the belief that it enriches us with skills and cherished memories. I’ve already explored 15 countries and Sri Lanka, and our West Coast also holds a special place in my heart. When not working, I enjoy surfing, road trips, and hiking, connecting with nature.
Ferdi Longland
Communications
Aspiring world traveller (explored over 42 countries so far) and creative, and in particular, jungle or island destinations inspires me. If I’m not behind the scene curating, uploading or editing travel content, I’m on the lookout for new adventures. Growing up on a farm near the Namibian border instilled a deep passion for the great outdoors, so being close to nature will always be my happy-place.

Of all the industries I’ve been part of, travel and tourism has been the most rewarding – helping others discover beauty across nations. During holiday seasons in Cape Town, I joined independent tour guides as a photographer and assistant, sparking my passion for exploration. I’ve visited 7 countries so far, with Zambia (community upliftment project) being the most meaningful and Mauritius the most educational – but it’s the people more than the places that captivate me. A lover of words and nature, you’ll find me atop a mountain with a poetry book, dictionary, and chocolate milkshake.

Passionate travel enthusiast meets culture-loving explorer. My love for travel stems from its unique blend of adventure and connection with people. Although my international travels have been limited to Bali and Mauritius so far, I’m passionate and excited to see more of the world. Island destinations have always been a favourite and visiting Santorini is high on my list. Locally, I love adventuring in Kruger, the Garden Route, Drakensberg mountains and definitely our Cape Winelands. As a mother of three, I balance my adventurous spirit with family time, creating a life filled with excitement and most importantly, meaningful connections.
