In the heart of the West Coast, the Langebaan lagoon offers azure blue waters and water sports aplenty and is one of the crown jewels of the West Coast National Park. It is in the Park that you’ll be met with a sight to behold in the spring, when sections of the park are blanketed with a sea of colour as wildflowers spring to life between July and September, after the rains.

The West Coast is certainly an undiscovered treasure, even by locals, and you’re sure to find a cozy relaxed little village to kick back and take in the fresh sea air. In summer the West Coast & Cederberg area is hotter and drier than Cape Town. Langebaan is consistently windy and has become a major kiteboarding and windsurfing destination, especially during the blustery summer months. It becomes increasingly drier further north and fog banks hug the coastline in winter. Further inland at places like Clanwilliam and the striking Cederberg mountain range temperatures can soar to above 50 degrees C. In winter temperatures can plummet with occasional snowfalls on the Cederberg peaks.
